Mornings with Riley

A few mornings this week, I was able to hang out with my friend Riley. She is now 20 months and is probably the smartest person I know that age. She is really friendly and it was super easy taking care of her. I got to Elise and Sage’s place around 6:45am and Riley and I had breakfast and read a few books. She knows all her animals and colors.

She also knows what she likes to eat. Yesterday, she asked for grapes, cheese, tofu, tomatoes, and Cheerio’s. She also loves to share everything with you. One grape for Riley, one grape for George.

Riley also likes to tell you about her friends at day care: Caitlin, Lucy, Emily and Sandra. When we got in the car, she was very helpful and reminded me how the seat buckle fits around her.

On the way to day care, she pointed out the Blue Bus, a truck, a garbage truck, trees, and cars. I wasn’t familiar with where her day care was, although she was very good at letting me know where to turn and which house we were going to. When I dropped her off she stayed with me for a little bit, but quickly got to her toys and started playing. She was ready to start her day and I was off to work.
